Happy Little Trees: A Bob Ross Open Call

Happy Little Trees is a curated juried show celebrating the life and legacy of artist Bob Ross at the Peddie and Fish Artist Collecting. The exhibition aims to capture Ross's reverency for the natural world by displaying contemporaty renditions of a classical subject matter: the Landscape. The show will be accepting all works from across all mediums that are inspired by nature. Peddie and Fish also hope to emulate Ross's passion for making art assesable to the broad public by partnering with Madison Consolidated Junior High to provide creative programing for the surronding community. 

Artists are invited to submit work inspired by the joyful spirit of Bob Ross. Selected works will be displayed alongside a Bob Ross original painting. $1000 dollars in prizes will be rewarded by a selected judge to participating artists durring the opening reception on May 6th.

 
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Over 18 years of age
  • $15 fee for up to three (3) submissions
    • Submit one (1) and up to three (3) images per artwork (include detail images and varying points of view if you choose to submit more than one image). 
    • Digital images must be saved as JPEG files. Make sure the images are clear and well lit. 
  • Artwork using any media will be accepted.
  • Artwork cannot be larger than 70 x 50.
  • If your artwork is selected for the exhibition it must be framed and/or equipped with hardware to display properly. You must provide all audiovisual equipment if your artwork requires it.
  • Must be original artwork. Nothing borrowed or copied.


TERMS & CONDITIONS

Accepted artwork must be dropped off in the Peddie and Fish Artist Collective either Friday, April 29th, 5-9 pm, on Saturday, April 30th, 11-6 pm, or by appointment the week leading up to April 10th. Work must be picked up Saturday June 18th, 11-6 pm.

If you are unable to drop off or pick up your artwork on the above dates, shipping arrangements must be made by emailing peddieandfishac@gmail.com. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist. The P&F AC is not responsible for artwork during shipping.
 
If your artwork is for sale and is sold while on exhibition, 25 percent of the sale price will be retained by the Peddie and Fish Artist Collective. Please consider this when pricing your work. You may list NFS (not for sale) if you do not want to sell your artwork. The selected pieces will be committed to stay on display in the P&F AC through the artwork pickup date regardless of sale.
 
Peddie and Fish Artist collective is not responsible for any damage or destruction of artwork while in possession.

Notice of acceptance to the exhibition by: April 18th
Artwork drop-off: April 29th, 5-9 pm  or April 30th, 11-6 pm
